crucified

Cardinal, bloody, red-handed crime

A human heart pierced by its guilt

Futilely washing his hands as a sign

But water could not rinse blood spilt.

The king is a servant

The dead are alive

Sweat and blood fervent

And now broken thrive.

Condemned to a harsh, godless fate

In scarlet iniquity’s woe,

Blood washed our crimson estate

Forming ally from coldhearted foe.

The king is a servant

The dead are revived

The son’s love is fervent

And the broken now thrive.

Sanguine blood thicker than water

Cleansing the tomb deep within

Orphans can call king their father

It was finished so life could begin.
